"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:19-20, NIV) This is the heart of the Christian mission: the reason Christians are here on this planet. A writer, then, who is a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ is commissioned to glorify God in all he says, does.. and writes. While all he writes may not be overtly "Christian," still his works ought to honor and please the Lord. The late Dr. Paul Bubna, former President of the *Christian and Missionary Alliance, wrote, "It may be true that a picture is worth a thousand words, but we must not miss the fact that writing words has a unique power all its own. Something powerful happens to the person who writes the words. It is one thing to think the thought, it is quite another to put it into words and see it on paper, or even a computer screen. That process opens a door of intimacy with one's self that may be unmatched any other way." Writing is both a privilege and a challenge, but writing for Christ is an honor and responsibility. May it always reflect our love for God and for others! *The Christian and Missionary Alliance is an evangelical denomination founded in 1887 with particular focus on overseas ministry. It has nearly 2,000 churches and an inclusive membership of more than 325,000 in the United States. It supports over 1,100 missionaries in 47 nations and has an international development and relief agency active on several continents. C&MA website: http://www.cmalliance.org
